Comprehensive Overview of Collaboration Tools and Technologies

Resources and Links Related to Collaboration Labs

Meetings have been a large part of the business landscape and the way of working since before the industrial age. In today's ever changing world more and more organizations are seeing the value in creating places that enable a different kind of group interaction. We call these places Innovation Labs or Collaboration Labs. The people creating these places may call them by other names. The purpose of highlighting them here is to show the practitioner a growing trend and to provide a resource that can potentially support learning from the patterns that might be emerging across these various organizations, how they build, and how they use these environments.

What follows are links to resources and additional information about Collaboration Labs we know about. We have separated out co-working spaces as they are designed and used differently from the other spaces we've listed. As time rolls on and we learn about additional environements being built and used we will update this list.

Co-Working

Co-working is a specific type of collaboration lab. Co-working sites are set-up as 'offices' for spontaneous, ad-hoc, and organic interaction between the people/businesses participating. These sites combine elements of an internet cafe and a professional working environment along with some of the community aspects of a more traditional office. The following list of links go to some of the co-working spaces popping up everywhere. In addition, you may use this link to access a google map of co-working spaces around the world.
